Where It All Began.

Sophia Miller loved the kitchen from her earliest days. Growing up in Portland, Maine, she spent afternoons beside her grandmother, tasting spoonfuls of soup and learning to crack eggs into mixing bowls. By age seven, she was confidently whipping up pancakes and scrambled eggs for the family.

First Kitchen Steps

At 14, Sophia landed her first job washing dishes at a local seafood bistro. She watched chefs sauté scallops and bake golden biscuits, absorbing every tip. Soon she graduated to prepping vegetables and folding pastry.

Starting the Blog

In 2018, Sophia combined her love of cooking and writing to launch How to Cook Today. She shares straightforward recipes like her favorite blueberry pancakes and creamy mac-and-cheese—along with quick tips she’s picked up over the years.
